WHat's your favorite 60s-comeback Elvis song? |
|
(late 60s era)
For me, it's got to be Rubberneckin'. Groovy beat, keen lyrics, though the title is a tad weird... And Elvis was a hottie back then. :-9 I can see why the chicks dug him...
Paul Oakenfold (techno/rave artist) made a kewl remix too. There's about 500 of them on Kazaa, half of them are broken files and there are two different releases of remix, apparently. Both are good though. :-)
Now to find the actual CD...

in magnificent voice, his cover of the old Dinah Washington song
came out before In the Ghetto and Suspicious Minds and sadly seems to have been forgotten

6. Yes, Elvis did a nice version of that, but... |
|
...it was little more than a note-for-note re-do of the 1962 version by Ketty Lester.

Yes, the lyrics embrace a mindset that I find repulsive, but Elvis delivers them with such effortless swagger and aplomb, I can't help but love the damned thing.
