1. There are two answers to that question:
1) If you're auditioning for a reality show (like Survivor or Big Brother) and they ask what your favorite foods are, ALWAYS ANSWER:

1) Fruit
2) Yogurt
3) Sparkling water

Do you know why?

Because they'll make you drink it all in a blender!

Trust me on that one.

Anyway, for my real menu:

1) Field greens salad with white wine and baked brie
2) Steak tar-tar and a bottle of Chateau Rothschild
3) Escargot and a shot of MacAllan 18 straight-up in a brandy snifter
4) Lemon sorbet
5) Seared sesame encrusted salmon and broiled lobster tail with beluga caviar
6) Creme brule
7) Coffee with Sambucca
8) Someone else picking up the check
5)

13. trudat, but it just struck me that way....
you SHOULD be writing for Maher, btw

I've read a couple posts, thinking "pretty damn funny," and they turned out to be yours

you do this for a living, or what?

he could use some help

if Dennis Miller hadn't lost his good writers, he'd still be funny...a fascist tool, but funny, nonetheless

he's death when he has to rely on his own, spontaneous "wit"

did you see him on Maher....god, was he pathetic

Because Kraft Mac & Cheese w/ raisins and peanut butter sauce w/
warm miller lite and slim jims is what they eat when they have a feast.

and do not forget ...... instant coffee in the microwave.

17. Speaking of fresh tomatoes!
I just got back from a visit to the folks and my dear, sweet sister-in-law gave me about 20 pounds of tomatoes from her garden.

My Lord, we had some for dinner and they are the sweetest and tastiest things I ever put in my mouth.

Can ANYONE explain why home grown tomatoes are so delicious and store bought ones just plain suck?

24. Sure .......
Tomatoes get their taste from
3 factors ..... sun & heat
the bruise when you pick them from the vine
and the the bruise when you cut them w/ your knife & teeth

Most store tomatoes are picked early (green) so they don't
spilt or break in handling ...... they are then put into
large sealed containers and hit w/ ethylene gas (the gas fruits
make when they ripen) this just turn 'em red but does nothing
for the taste ...... off season you are better off w/ canned tomatoes
or hydroponic ones ..... still not close to a home grown "Jet Star" picked
red on a hot day.

28. Let's see...
A plate of Bruschetta made with vine ripened tomatoes and a sprinkle of goat cheese, lightly toasted, with a side dish of good virgin olive oil and sundried tomatoes and garlic for dunking.

Veal marsala. The veal, first lightly dredged in flour, then browned till a crisp shell forms. Finished in a marsala and fresh mushroom sauce. Served with a buttery pasta.

A crisp green salad to the side drizzled with oil and vinegar and topped with a variety of olives.

The wine should come from the local vineyard, a hearty red, warm and plentiful.

Dessert - Tira Misu and a strong black coffee.

36. I haven't thought about this is in a loooooong time
Edited on Sun Aug-07-05 08:19 AM by Cats Against Frist
Starter -- sunflower-crusted, whole grain bread, dipped in organic olive oil with parmesiano reggiano and cracked black pepper and a mixed baby green salad with spinach, arugula, raddicio, romaine and red cabbage, with grated asiago, tomatoes, candied almonds and garlic basalmic vinaigrette.

Soup -- cream of tomato

Main -- Grilled pork loin, stuffed with anjou pears and gorgonzola, flavored with sage and basted with a garlic-basalmic-white wine butter sauce (which is drizzled on, also, when the loin is cut -- right before serving), and a side of CRISP asparagus with butter.

Dessert -- Chocolate mousse layer cake with hazelnut shavings

Coffee -- Organic, skim, double-short latte with no sugar or syrup.

This is the Italian Version. I also have a Thai, Indian, Mexican and Seafood version...

*edit: forgot the liquor -- good, dry red wine, throughout! Probably a Chianti or a pinot noir. I know I should be having white, because of the pork, but this is my fantasy meal, not Martha Stewart's fantasy meal.
