...and has long been at the point where it's growth is balanced by breakage, so it's stayed at the same length for many years. But it hasn't been anywhere near the bottoms of my ears in a LONG time.

To about the bottom of my shoulder blades, held in a pony tail every day. I'm a 58 year old man. Don't really care how others want their hair, but I prefer long hair if it is dark and short if it is light when thinking about what I consider attractive for a woman.

Maybe longer. Considering our cultural standards, "past thebottom of the ear" hardly qualifies as "long" on a female.

For what it's worth, I'm a guy with long hair (past my shoulders), and I happen to like both long and short hair on women (hell, even the Sinead O'Connor look works, on some people). Depends on the person, really. And however she decides she wants it is fine...not my business, is it? ANy more than my haircut is anyone else's.

though I have seen plenty of women who look really pretty with shorter hair. In general, most women who I have seen with both lengths of hair look better with long hair, though. I tend to think long hair looks cooler on guys, too. As a guy who tends to have longer hair, though, I definitely support the right of women to have short hair. In a sense, in this more and more backward-looking era we're in, long-haired men and short-haired women are allies.

I think hair length is a personal choice and no one should dictate how people should have it, based on gender or whatever. I don't like restrictions on length, color, etc. as part of a "dress code", either. It's sad the number of people that become so uptight over something as basic as how people wear they hair.

I have easy hair to maintain though and I'm kind of lucky in that department. I like it long and think it looks nice on me, but it's most definitely an individual preference thing.

I tend to prefer men with short hair. Ultimately, the man himself is most important, but generally speaking in terms of preferences, that's mine.
