Gilbert Gaul. Someone on PBS's "Antiques Roadshow" broadcast this evening, had several of his paintings. The one she brought in was worth thousands of dollars. I'd never seen his work, so I "googled" the artist and found that Scottish print company.

I have ended up on sites I don't even want to name. It starts out innocently enough. I'll see a documentary on some oddity like trepanation and want to study why someone would want to suspend a drill from the ceiling and drill a hole into their skull. Next thing you know I see feet with food on them and worse.

Morbid curiosity gets the better of me. I can't believe people really like some of the things they like, but, hey, that's their thing.

On the other hand, I went looking for a more indepth article about electronics parts, transistors to be exact, one time and ended up getting "Cybernannied" by the school's computer because apparently in addition to electronics articles this one site also hosted bizarre porn. It's actually not that hard to end up on a zany or sick site...

At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I'm SO SICK of these sites that start off with the now-obligatory Flashturbation nonsense that ALWAYS HANGS UP! ALWAYS!!! You can have the fastest most perfect PC or Mac and the Flash, at some point, will hiccup or delay or red x; NEVER fails! When it's all about the Web Designer's "art" and not the content or message of the subject, the site is bad. Besides, the last thing I want to see is Web Art. I'm much more impressed with easy navigation than I am of Phoenix Rising from the Pyramids accompanied by a cheesy electric guitar wail and cliched low reverberated heavy breathing in the background.
