http://www.go-l.com/desktops/machl38/features/index.htm

Presenting the Mach 3.8 Personal SuperComputer featuring a never before seen collection of technical breakthroughs of both hardware and software integration. It is the world's most radically engineered, groundbreaking, and fastest personal computing powerhouse ever built. No other PC in its category you compare it with, comes even closes. Nothing. Period. Truly, like no other.
--snip--

This thing is insane. I hadn't hear about this up until a few days ago when my friends and I saw it. It's very powah-ful!

This is just the technical specs:

16. My heart be still
My heart is pounding, my palms are sweating, my knees have gone weak. I am in love!!! Alas, and alack, I will never be able to attain this object of lust and desire. And just so my computer/companion of three years does not get jealous, I had to foward that site to my work computer (strictly a platonic relationship) so I can print out the spec's from there. I'll use those specs to enhance my fantsy life for months to come.

6. One of my friends was going nuts because...
it supports up to 74 full-length 32 or 64 bit PCI slots. Also.. did you see that terabyte HD? :wtf: That's nuts!

10. Missed the harddrive!
Saw the line about "up to 2 Terrabytes" but missed that a cuple of the computers do come with terrabyte drives! Holy rockin memory storage, that's a lot.

And the 74 PCI slots - I saw that. Don't even know what one would do with that many.

12. I am that bozo...
Although I would probably be playing counter-strike not Quake. Except, and correct me if I'm wrong, I've been placed under the impression that flat screen monitors generally don't have a refresh rate fast enough to play games like that. Now, it's concievable they've somehow fixed that problem with this $8,000 computer but I don't know.

19. Don't know about the LCD screens
Could be.

And if you want to be a bozo, I totally affirm that! Enjoy your games, and the awesome computing power!

never played counter-strike. Quake II was the last game I've gotten, and when was that? 1998? :-)

Edited on Sat Nov-08-03 06:58 AM by La_Serpiente
This thing is so expensive.
It looks like they are looking for venture capital.

They are definetly in bed with Microsoft though.

11. This thing is so fast it encodes video IN THE FUTURE!
"What about DVD/MPEG-2 Broadcast Quality encoding at over twice the playback frame rate? What about the ability to do both still above real-time speeds in the background, while checking your email or writing a paper?"

It encodes video before it happens! Cool!

Yeah.. but if you throw out the 8k for the comp, you know you'll shell out the cash for a cable line.

Or maybe even something faster...
