I just finished watching "What the bleep do we know" ---
Well, this has been a good movie watching weekend. We rented both What the bleep and The lost skeleton of Cadavra.

Of these two films, one of them was filled with profound insights, one was a work of genius, one had some high quality production values and one of them may very well be the most imprtant film of our time.... and then the other movie was What the bleep do we know, quite possibly the bleepiest pile of steaming bleep I've ever bleeping seen.

I thind I would bleep myself in my own bleep before watching that bleeping piece of bleeping garbage again.

If you have a nagging urge to watch the film What the bleep do we know, do yourself a favor and use the money you would spend on renting it and buy a tack hammer instead and bludgeon yourself with it; you will get more profound insight, wisdom and general knowledge from the tack hammer.

One last thig --- Watch The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra --- Obey the Skeleton!

1. That movie lost any possible credibility with me
when they introduced that "Ramtha" woman or whoever. Just in case anybody didn't know that is the woman who Gary Trudeau based the character Barbara Ann Boopstein (Boopsie) after in his comic strip Doonesbury.

2. Really?
I'd like to hear from some others who've seen "What the Bleep Do We Know?" because I saw a short DU discussion of it yesterday and thought about buying the DVD. After googling around about it and finding the official site, I was surprised that the three primary filmmakers involved it were studying with Ramtha.

3. It really did suck
Talk about making too much soup from one carrot...they started with some actual physics and neurology, then extrapolated to the point of saying that we "create our reality." If this is so, I should be able to *believe* strongly enough that * is out of the White House and he will be, right?

The bits of "drama" mixed in with the talking heads speaking about physics or philosophy or (frequently) utter crap sucked, too. The repeated question, "How far down the rabbit hole do you want to go?" was a blatant ripoff from The Matrix which was a deeper and more interesting movie overall than this dreck.

4. Aptly put
"too much soup from one carrot"
But I found the physics and neurology stuff thought provoking. I think we do create our own reality to some extent. The day after I saw it, there was a news story about a woman photographing swans (in Norway, IIRC) and only after developing the photos did she notice a man's corpse nearby. It was so unexpected, she had not seen it with her naked eye.
I have loaned out my copy to friends and told them to take it with a grain of salt but it does provoke some good discussion. One of the biggest scams in the movie was about the project to reduce crime in DC by having a large group of people meditate on it. I looked into it, thinking it might be a useful tool for liberals, and it's apparently pure hogwash (surprise!). I think I'll try using the Patronus spell at the next election instead. :-)

5. It sucked so much I wanted to let everyone know
how much it sucked that way they can go rent Lost Skeleton of Cadavra instead of What the Bleep.

Beware the Fornicons!

6. I despised "What the Bleep...?"
Irritated the shit outta me... so goddamn pretentious and poorly done. If I hadn't felt so apathetic about it by the time the frigging dancing blood cells or whatever it was showed up, I'd have broken the DVD in two.

7. What the Bleep Do We Know? Evidently, not much.
That film gets my award for the stupidest movie of at least the last half-dozen years. Dukes of Hazzard looks like Citizen Kane compared to it.

I can't go into all the ways I disliked "What the Bleep...". I actually got angry, the more I thought about it. The absolutely horrible, junior-high-school grade acting was the least of its problems, as the pseudoscientific claptrap was downright insulting and the presence of Ramtha/JZ Knight/Julie Whateverherrealnameis was just infuriating.

It's too bad. I actually believe very strongly in a thought/reality connection. But this movie was so poorly done it almost discredited the idea entirely.

8. I agree...worst movie I have seen in ages
I mean what WAS that?

It was trying to be too smart, I think. What a waste of 2 hours.

9. Yeah, it almost suckered me in.
Didn't see it though, thank God.

I had a good movie weekend too.

Batman Begins (the fans are actually right on this one, they did a very good job), and March of the Penguins (a fine film.)

10. A reminder kick
Hit yourselves with a tack hammer instead of watching this "What the Bleep". Trust me.
