Bought 50 blank cds at Rad. Shack for 15. & getting a 10. rebate. Bought |
|
a 50 dollar USB WIFI card and I am getting a 30 dollar rebate. What is up with rebates? It feels like a trick. Are the items I am buying really worth about a nickel and I am just too stupid?

buying something else too without a rebate. I've bought about $2k worth of computer stuff over the last couple of years and got about $600 worth of rebates. Only 2 never sent the money- one was a $8 rebate so I didn't lose any sleep over it, the other was $30 and it was denied because I "didn't submit all the documentation". I squawked and stated that I printed out the form online like the instructions said and if they were going to be that way about it, I'll never buy anything from them again. About a month later, got a "status change' message and then got my money.

2. Much of it hinges on the fact that only a small fraction of people who |
|
are eligible for a rebate bother to send in the forms to claim it.
