Anyone ever seen the film, "Wheels of Terror" by Sven Hassel? |
|
I read the book in the army many years ago. It anarchic tone and humour cetainly resonated with us, as we were more like a trade-union than a military unit, in some ways.
I saw the film of it for the first time the other night, and thought it was terrific. After a book, the film is often disappointing, but this great in its own right. Especially the final scene. More like a Spaghetti Western than your usual hollywood fare!

3. That's very witty, Jeff! |

Maybe, he should sue Sven Hassel for breach of copyright!

2. Didn't know there was one |

But I read all of his books (and a fair few of Leo Kessler's) when I was a kid. Pretty good stuff, from what I recall.
