3. That is one movie I will go to. That will surprise my husband. I hate
going and wait until the DVD is out.

4. Appropriate for a 5 year old?
I have a little one I'd like to take, if the movie is not too mature for her.

5. It's rated "G", and there were many children in the audience
when I saw it yesterday.

The only "violence" in the entire film is one scene of a large seabird attacking baby penguins -- no blood shown and the edit cuts away before you see much of anything. A few penguins (grown and chicks) die of cold during the film, and some eggs freeze with resultant chick death.

If your 5 year old can handle that, it's a marvelous educational film, and very enjoyable.
