I've lost 85 lbs; I did weight watchers and I walk 20 minutes a day |
|
and that's all I did. I don't remember exactly when I started but I think it took about 2 years. But now it's engrained in me--lots of vegetables, small frequent meals, small snacks and walks throughout the day. I walk around and around the hallways at work. They used to laugh at me, but they don't now.
And I'm writing my PhD dissertation. Next spring you guys can call me Dr. Democrat in Tallahassee.
So much for me, what are you guys doing that's fun?

I can't seem to even lose 5 lbs., no matter what I do.
I'm whiling away my days on DU while waiting for bar results; I may start looking for a job in a month or two.

I lost 15 pounds on WW about 6 years back, but have gained it allllllllll back. :( I've just started WW again, though, and at least I only gained back that 15. Still, I'm feeling the difference between WW at 35 years old and WW at 41. Have to walk hard and further at 41.

...if you don't expect instant results.
Despite working in a bar when I was in grad school -- more-or-less free beer, free food if working -- but burgers & potato skins, and like stuff -- I still lost almpst 60 lbs in a year, without dieting.
I lived 2 mi. from campus and 2 mi for work and walked everywhere -- maybe 9 mi/day average.
It's thirty years later, and I, together with the American Republic, have gone all pear-shaped. Still, I have a pedometer, and am working up to a goal of 10,000 steps/day.

We would love to have you join us in the Weight Loss/Maintenance forum here on DU, and share your story! There are several DU'ers who are following Weight Watchers who would probably appreciate your guidance, and all of us could sure use your story as inspiration!!! link: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=337:hi:
