I've heard that telltale bomb-bomb more than once, when the shuttle would come in for a landing at Edwards. I never saw it, though, the landings were always in daylight hours.

i was dreaming we had a big quake and i was trapped under my fallen ceiling....then i heard the BOOM and it added to the reality of my dream. fun!

when I heard the sonic boom. It freaked me out and I woke up my husband and I looked out the window. We both went back to sleep. Then this morning on the way to work, we found out that the shuttle landed in CA, and it must have been the boom I heard. So glad it made it home safely.
