3. good morning and thanks

i have high hopes for a good birthday. last year, 50, i fought tears all day. i was so sick, and had been for a long time. but i have my health back, and i am going to suck it up.
i also got a great present. i was sort of ordered to buy myself a nice bicycle. i had been borrowing my problem child's bike, and i DID want a bike. but i didn't want to HAVE to get one to make this kid happy, since she is never happy anyway. so i found myself a nice used bike for $35, and told my hubby to spend the rest of the birthday budget on champagne.
so he got me one of these-

gonna take it to our favorite byob sushi place.
apparently, life begins at 51.
