Worst artist in the history of the universe
Edited on Tue Aug-09-05 01:46 PM by Taverner
I say Thomas Kinkaid...he has the most uninspiring, candy corn crap ever committed to canvas!!

Worse than suburban mall art, this stuff longs for a past that never was, chinatowns where nothing is written in Chinese, streets that never get dirty, and the ubiquitous house...with a light on. The worst, stupidest, overdone metaphor in art. Basically, he's a born-again Christian, and this is our soul, with its light on waiting for Jesus.

ARRRRGHHH!!!!

4. Thomas Kinkade, you mean?
He's pretty bad. How about Damien Hirst? "I'm doing an an installation piece of skinned, decomposing bull's heads, complete with flies and maggots, in glass cases... it's called 'The Twelve Apostles'".

5. Yes. Kincaid doesn't qualify as an artist.
He should be called a "marketeer"; meaning he'll sell his crap for whatever he can get.

Would you believe......he now sells Kincaid candles, deodorizers, even toilet bowl fresheners. What a jerk. I'd like to .......take a dump on that idea.

6. Not only that, in Vallejo there is a new housing development
Made of homes "inspired by Thomas Kinkaid"

Of course, they look just like every other pre-fab home out there - with an extra price attached.../

7. Thomas Kinkaid is awful
My aunt calls his stuff "calendar pictures".

The thing is, I've seen more meaningful art in calendars.

8. Kinkaid Sure Does Have the Marketing Thing Working for Him
"Dealership Opportunities"? Did Frederick Church or JMW Turner offer dealerships?

(OOH, Whistler I would believe.)

10. Kincaide has "apprentices" who are specially trained to put "highlights"..
... on his "paitings" (or rather, mass-produced prints of his paintings).

I'm sure they're all very skilled, and appreciate every drop of gruel they get at the end of the day.
