They have no red wine in their house.

10. It could have been FAR worse. |

We did Christmas at my cousins last year, and while I was cooking I asked for a white wine. He handed me a bottle of 2001 Charles Shaw...two buck chuck :puke: It turned out that he had CASES of the stuff in his basement, and he SWORE that it was one of the best wines he'd ever had.
IMO, Trader Joes should be forced out of business for that atrocity.

It really is an horrendous state of affairs, nigh on unbearable.
I had pasta this evening, and I got through a fair amount between the pan and the glass (not to make you jealous). But I also had some Italian salami (as in bought in Italy) to throw in there too (may that was).

21. If it were my place, you'd have a good six or seven different ones |

from which to choose - merlot, pinot noir, syrah, bordeaux, and I'm not sure what else, probably another merlot and pinot noir.
Not that I'm saying anything specific, I'm just, you know, sayin'.

I usually go for the merlot or the pinot noirs or Cotes du Rhones or syrahs.
Way back in the way back time, I drank mostly cabernets, until I discovered the other wines. Not that the cabernets aren't worth drinking, but I found some stuff I like, so I stuck with it.
For you, however, I will keep a case of cabernet handy. And, if you don't mind, it won't be any of that cheap shitty shit, either.

I know how to cook. But my family doesn't. And the Italians are much better than the Irish at it. My advice, marry an Italian.
You can make a good sauce without red wine, IMO, but it is better with.

So how was San Fran? I just got back from Dublin, Ohio's Irish Festival. Lots of weird Irish food, I don't really remember much of the food because I was double-fistin' Killian's all afternoon!
To think, a goddamned Irish Festival without Guinness! It was unheard of. Flogging Molly rocked, despite their singer having the flu. I had a great time though!
By the way, Christobel asked me to go to Kennywood with her tonight, but my car blew up. Put in a good word and an apology from me if you see her this week. :-)

when G puts up the pix, I will send you a link. It was so beautiful, I find it hard to put it into words. Wish we could move there. Kid had fun running from plane to plane on the people mover and riding every kind of conveyance known to man.
I saw a lot of Christobel et al when we went to the sleepover Sat night. Slept in the tent with teens screaming and chasing each other all night and then Christobel and N and their friends in the pool, and then the teens in the pool til 3 am. It was fun and pretty wild. I did manage to get some sleep, somehow. B had fun too.
I like some of Flogging Molly's stuff. Were they good? Who else was there?

The Prodigals...I don't remember much...
Flogging Molly put on a great show. Christobel tried to get me to come to the campout if for no other reason for the free beer. I opted out because I felt I would need a decent night's sleep before i left early the next morning for the festival. but i had really wanted to go.
Oh well, send her my apologies for that too! ;)

Yeah, I probably got more sleep than most people there, but that's not saying much. And I only had one Guinness.
It was pretty funny. Man, I am really out of practice with staying up late, shreiking teens all night, and B kept me playing endless rounds of Uno when he wasn't hiding in the tent. ( he hadn't slept in one before and it was quite the novelty.) Those folks are a riot, but very sweet. I met several women who live right near me!
