The passing of a man whom still to this day touches generations left the earthly world to take on a presence among the world that you and I walk upon today...

2. When I got home from an impromptu get together with friends

the day Jerry died I found in my mail box the new Dead Tour paper. The headline was "One Way Or Another This Darkness Has to Give".
It was all about the violence that had been happening at the shows.

3. My wife and I gave away our tickets

to Chicago the only shows we were going to see that year because I said I didn't want to deal with the 30th anniversary idiots that would be on tour. We planned to get married and do all fall tour for the honeymoon. Never happened- Come on death threats against Jerry WTF? I wanted to see him in his 80's playin banjo somewhere:(

4. That whole summer was a drag.

There were a few good shows, but overall it was a very ominous tour. Then with the events at Deer Creek and the like, the vibe was just very wrong.

I could feel something coming in June when I saw them last. Something just felt very wrong.

5. We usually get together every year on the weekend

(longtime friends of mine) for a cookout - a kind of a party-tribute.

8. VIDEO MONTAGE:

There is some truly wonderful acoustic dead concert footage here...birdsong, to lay me down, don't ease me in, ripple and others...Also lots of regular concert footage although out of something like 30 news broadcasts 26 are playing touch in the backround.
