A good free firewall?

I've been having some computer problems and was wondering if anyone knew what the best free firewall is out there?

3. Zonealarm

The XP-built-in firewall isn't too bad either (it works).
However: a soft-firewall can only offer so much protection: the attacker can "hook" into the system at the same place where the firewall does it and thus bypass it.
