How old is too old to wear a miniskirt?
I have several left over from the eighties. And a couple from the late nineties. They've been in storage for years and years. I'm trying to decide whether or not to give them to goodwill. (Wonder if anyone at Goodwill would even want them? :silly: )

I'm thinking about getting rid of them, even my black leather one, because I just think that 40 is too old for miniskirts, and, as I'm about to turn 40, I'm clearing out stuff that I've mentally and emotionally outgrown.

So, what do you think? When is too old for miniskirts?

7. I am too old for miniskirts.
I am 39.

On the other hand, I'm not sure Tina Turner will EVER be too old for miniskirts.

I look best in a skirt that ends just above the knee. I wear a lot of stuff I'm probably a lot too old for, but I draw the line at miniskirts. I think I'd just look silly.

If you think you still have the legs,go for it. Dress it up with a nice blouse or this winter with a long sweater and a scarf. Have fun! I plan on wearing mine until at least 50 as long as I'm not embarrassing myself!!

But damn, if you don't, then don't be doing us any favors we won't appreciate, if you catch my drift and I think you do.

Many, many's the time I've been out somewhere and had to ask Mrs R the question "Does she really think she's doing us a favor by showing us that?"

It's like that great French woman avant artist (forget her name) who still wore sleveless dresses into her 80s. I think that was cool.

41. It's not a matter of age
It's all about the figure. My maternal grandmother was thin and had legs up to her neck, she would've looked good in a miniskirt in her mid fifties (at the right venue, of course, grown women don't wear a miniskirt just anywhere.) My mother still looks good in a short skirt, and she's nearly 50 but also thin and long legged.

I'd look bad in one at 24- since I had leftykid I have a really wide hips and a rather ample seat which added to my already short legs makes me look a little pear-shaped and hobbity.

If you won't wear confidently then donate them, for some crazy reason eighties fashion is popular again so somebody will wear them.

58. If you still look good
I don't care if you are twenty, you don't look good in one, please don't wear it. I know a few fifty year olds i wouldn't mind seeing in a miniskirt, and the best women for miniskirts are the ones you would rather see not wearing anything. You advertise your flesh with a mini, that is all most men will see. You want to thwart objectification, don't shave your legs for a couple of months, and then wear one.
