1. Dimmu Borgir's the only one I've heard.

And I like their stuff, in a weird, masochistic kind of way, considering that reading the lyrics corrupt your soul and make you dissolve from the inside out.

2. Old Man's Child and Dimmu Borgir

are almost the same band. Some of the members overlapped at one point in time. If you like Dimmu, go for Old Man's Child too.

I like Dimmu mostly because of how strange the music sounds. Some of their lyrics are pretty marevelous too. For example:

3. They actually are pretty smart.

They have this one shirt at Hot Topic, "Death Cult Campaign, North America," which depicts a Grim Reaper-type figure standing on a pile of skulls holding a US flag. Pretty pointed.

Yeah, I know, my taste for black metal will probably interfere with my future political career, since I can't imagine it'll play well in the red states.
