I think the last time the Blackhawks won the Cup was in 1961. ;)

25. He must be getting old though.
He was playing back when I had season tickets for the Hawks in the 80's. He was drafted the same year is Ed Olczyk (I think 1984?) Eddie O used to live not too far from me and took a coaching job somewhere (I am thinking Pitt. for some reason - tell me if I am wrong.) The one thing I do remember very well is that when Mario was drafted by the Penguins he was so mad he wouldn't go to their tables or put on their jersey. I remember this because we were watching who would take Olczyk. Mario went first and I think Eddie O went 3rd. Boy, it's all coming back. Do you remember Ken Yaremchuk? He played for the Hawks for a few years aroung that time. I really thought he had great potential. He went nowhere.

Hopefully the Pens can bring Malkin over from Russia, we drafted him #2 overall last season, I'd love to see what he can do.

Living in Edmonton and all; when I lived in Phoenix I was a casual Coyotes fan but they were so bad it was a struggle. I love Junior Hockey mostly, and we've got some great teams in Alberta..

35. Are you talking about Craig MacTavish?
I liked him too, back when he was with the Bruins. And when he had that drunk driving accident--manslaughter, I believe--his career seemed just about gone. Is he back as a coach now? That's great if he is.

9. what's your feelings on leclair?
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 12:53 AM by PittPoliSci
do you think he's comin' back? do you even want him back?

personally, he's one of my favorite players. I really like the teams that the flyers have assembled over the years, most notably the more recent teams with Recchi, Roenick, Primeau, and LeClair.

by the way, I think most people in pittsburgh would have me strung up for saying that :-)

14. He's getting old...
Plus, they've all obviously been off for a year now, so who knows what will happen. Personally, I've always enjoyed watching him play, but as I said he is getting older now and *could* be a liability.

I'm just so relieved to have hockey back...I actually went to a Philly Phantoms gave earlier this summer (last game of the finals actually, which they won of course) and it was really pretty exciting. Reminded me how much I miss it!

16. i wanted to check out a Johnstown Chiefs game...
But I guess I never got around to it. I've been playing hockey a whole lot myself, but I really miss just being able to turn on TV and watch a game. I was always in heaven during the Winter Olympics. I just love being able to root for LeClair and not feel guilty about it.

18. 2nd the Blackhawks!
Looks like they are finally spending some dough.

The Blackhawks are a model of success compared to the city's baseball teams. A championship as recently as the 1960's. Woo-Hoo!

Yzerman's last year. They'll win one more.

Of course I won't be able to go to a game because I don't have eighty hundred million dollars or whatever it is they charge for a pair of tickets to the Joe.
