Not sure if it was the classical music or pure exhaustion, but she is OUT now! The bummer part, I have to be up in 3 1/2 hours, so what's the point of sleeping??? I know I'll end up sleeping through the alarm, so I guess I'm up for a while.

Well, there are two spawns, technically. One has been sleeping for quite a while though.
I had a policy when they were infants. You wake 'em, you take 'em. People learned to shut up when my kids were napping.

And I really appreciate that you just let your spawn wear themselves out. I used to know a woman who "Robo-dosed" her kids when they got too "wakey." She'd give 'em a shot of Robatussin to make 'em sleepy. What a nutjob. You sound like a good mom, N_G_U.

I worked really well on the grandparents. When my son was tiny, he refused naps, and I didn't care if it was 3 or 4 in the afternoon. My mom would be over, telling me that he'd be up all night, and just be itching to wake him up. If you woke him up, he'd be absolutely horrid for the rest of the day. Fuck that, let him sleep. He's always been an early riser, not much trouble at night.
My daughter is a night critter, and I feel her pain, but she has to be awake for school. She takes meds that are supposed to help her sleep, but nothing was working tonight.
I've never given either one of them meds to make them sleep. Joked about it lots though! I do what I can!

8. I remember someone who would give her kids a heaping dose of Tylenol |
|
just to knock them out. Of course the thing was she wanted them to be out of her hair so she could enjoy her own "medicines". :eyes:

I call the cops on them regularly for making my trailer vibrate with their music after 11 PM. Yes, it is payback time!

Her room is just a wall away from the living room. I can hear her getting into and out of bed, any noise she makes.

23. I hated my room configuration |
|
because my room was right off the living room. Not only could everyone basically burp in my sleep, but due to the...unique acoustics of our trailer, I could hear EVERY sound from the living room MAGNIFIED times 10. It was horrid. I mean, the TV could be at a barely audible level in the LR, but it was like sonic fucking boom in my bedroom.
I like houseboats because they're like trailers on the water.

25. What I hate is the air vents |
|
My room gets blasted with cold air, but my son's room gets very little because he's at the other end.

26. Yup. We didn't have central heating so |
|
we had to use a kerosene heater in the hallway. My mom's was at one end, mine was at the other--so no matter what you did, one was freezing and the other was sweating and wearing tank-tops in 20F weather

27. The last place we lived had central air, but not heat |
|
That suked big time. Space heaters everywhere in a trailer. Yeah, I felt good about that. All of them would cut off if tipped over, and we made sure nothing was around them to catch fire. One was remote controlled, and we kept it in the living room. The parakeet started imitating the beep it made when a button was pushed.
