4. Thank you, jeff . . .
I didn't start painting until I was 36, and that's what I mean by "I Am A Promise. " I think we're all a promise of the future. Thanks for your kind words. :pals:

Margaret Rickter...

I stole a quarter from my mom's change jar to buy her a ring....

BTW, the painting is wonderful

Happily, I climbed back out of it....

8. And you lived to tell about it!
Still, if a boy had bought _me_ a ring with _stolen money_ when I was 6 years old, my life might have turned out entirely differently. And it still might.

11. I wonder where old Margaret is today,,,,,
Curiosly, about 15 - 16 years later I met and fell madly in love with one of my first grade class mates.....

We didn't realize we were classmates until I caught sight of her First Communion Picture. And there I was toothless, grinning in the front row with my shirt tail out....

My father use to tell me I alwuas looked as if I had just left a Polish Wedding..... What ever that means

6. Thanks, Enigmatic.
I loved doing this one. Generally, I loathe doing portraiture, but I learned a lot from the struggle.

I don't remember what it's called, either, except for "decent composition." ;)

I guess I didn't have much vision for myself when I was little, but I like the way middle age is panning out. ;)

14. Very charming...
I like the statement a lot. You never cease to impress me...

And to show your wisdom as an artist, you did NOT attempt to paint the plaid in your dress. :)

Good to see ya, gmoney! (The plaid would have made the painting "too busy. You have a good eye, my friend.)

I know I could be a great painter, if I could only master drawing.

I draw terribly, but I'm OK when I draw with a paintbrush. Don't ever give up, if you really want to paint.

about Supreme Court nominee Roberts' adopted kids? Unbelievably vicious discussion.

That's especially nice to hear, coming from another artist. :hi: I'm glad to see you in the DU Artists' Group, too. (I need to train myself to check in there more frequently.)
