Drunk Man Stole Frito-Lay Truck To Get Cash For More Beer
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 10:27 AM by matcom
<snip>

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- First he stole a potato chip delivery truck, then he tried to sell its cargo for five dollars so he could get a beer.

That's according to police in Buffalo, New York, where a man was arrested Tuesday and charged with driving while intoxicated, grand larceny and other offenses.

Police say the man drove off in a Frito-Lay delivery truck after the driver left the keys in the ignition. A witness told police that the man stepped out of the truck with a box of chips and offered to sell the whole truck for $20, but said he'd settle for $5 because he wanted a beer.

Officers say the man hit two parked cars before he was apprehended while trying to hide behind a building.

Authorities say he had a blood-alcohol content of .26 -- more than three times the legal limit.

1. OK, now THAT is hard up for a drink.
Now, if he were a pothead, he'd have eaten all the Doritos, THEN tried to sell the rest of the stuff. :D

3. Heh. True.
He'd dream about a Frito-Lay truck crashing in front of house, though. "Whoa...wouldn't that be cool? All the Funyuns I can eat..."

4. Even if the pothead was desperate for more pot?

I don't know really, I would think that any addictive drug would make any one hard up if they didn't have any.

9. Even if a pothead was 'desperate' for more pot...
...he *or she* would never get farther than the couch...or the kitchen.

Barring a supply of Fritos...dog biscuits might begin to look attractive if you were high enough. :)

Beer? Nah...Sangria or Pepsi.

12. He or she may make it to the kitchen, to grab his little black phone book
and then maybe his room to call his usual numbers. :D

14. Pot isn't physically addictive
It's psychologically addictive (or CAN be) but that wouldn't cause anyone to go to such extremes for a fix.

One time a lady was in my building banging on doors at 5am looking for a drink. Poor thing. I felt really bad for her, but I felt she might be dangerous so I kept my door locked.

5. Yes, much more laid-back. Plus that would've
taken too much energy.

8. I see the pothead jokes have already been made
:)

But, if he had tried to sell the cargo to some of his pothead friends he would have been off scot-free.
