Who wants to go in together to buy Abercrombie and Fitch? |
|
And then we can destroy it. God DAMMIT, I hate that place!!!
It's like a fucking techno bar where all the patrons wear a half a bottle of bad cologne. And why can't you get ANYWHERE? All I wanted to buy was a fucking belt.........A BELT! And it took me 15 minutes just to get up to the counter. And when I did get to that counter, the stoner behind it couldn't count change. Or he couldn't hear me over the rave that was going on behind me.
Question for the ladies; why even wear a skirt if you're going to wear one of those sold at A&F? Seriously, it doesn't even cover your ass cheeks. You could go to Wal*Mart and buy a cloth diaper that would cover more and people would think you were being unique.
And did I miss the memo about it being cool to have wrinkles on everything? The clothes in there look like they were picked up from a pile on the floor of a fraternity. What the fuck is that all about? Iron your god damned shirts. And put the fucking collars down on your polos asshole.........you're not Don JOhnson.
Maybe I'm just getting old. End of rant. Gracias.

I could work around that.

6. Yeah. It was T-shirt advertising for an asian laundry service. |
|
Wong Brothers' Laundry. Two Wongs make a White. Or something like that. So stupid.
Not to mention the fact that their ad campaign is not really a campaign at all, just naked people.

14. It's not the naked people that bothers me. |
|
Believe me, I like naked people just like the next one. But they don't advertise anything. It's just naked people. Isn't a fundamental principle of advertising clothing, to show the clothing? Or am I just hopelessly clueless here?

You don't need actual product when you've got a name and young naked bodies...it's been proven.

21. You have a point, but a frangrance is invisible. |
|
I would totally understand an ad with naked people if it were marketing an invisible product. To me, my decision whether to buy a particular pair of pants would only be directed by an advertisement which included that pair of pants.

23. See, you're using logic here...that's not necessarily a factor. |
|
If you wanna sell clothes to kids, you have to make them pay attention to you...that's it, just pay attention. Showing them the product isn't mandatory.
Ahhh, youth...

28. It's a lot more than racist T-shirts ... |
|
Frankly, I don't know how anybody in good conscience could shop at A&F. I avoid it like I avoid Wal-Mart -- and Abercrombie wouldn't want my kind in their stores anyway (as I'm not white). A&F was hit with a class-action lawsuit for discrimination against blacks, Latinos and Asians. Serious stuff. Just Google <Abercrombie racism> http://www.naacpldf.org/content.aspx?article=55http://www.afjustice.com/http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/11/24/60minutes/main657604.shtmlPeace

I have never shopped there, and never will...The asian thing was one thing, but then the followed that up by marketing thong underwear for little girls and preteens...totally inappropriate.

3. Hate to admit it...I like A&F. |
|
The last time I was in there, some of the PARENTS were younger than me (and I'm only 37).
They do have great cargo shorts, though (I use them when I go on photography gigs).

I seriously know what you mean. I'm only 31, but some of the stuff the young ones wear today....
I work in the middle of downtown Atlanta right in the heart of GA State University and some of the things I see thesw kids wearing makes me think to myself "what in the hell are you wearing" or "your mother would die of shame if she saw you wearing that crap".

At least with college frat-boys who think they're gods gift to everything.
I am actually planning to start a clothing company in the near future and on the polo shirts, I intend to include tags with collar instructions. Popped collars have to be one of my biggest pet peeves ever.

22. Once on a shopping trip with my niece and sister |
|
They stopped at A&F. I went next door to the Suncoast Movie store... for a freakin' hour! When I came back my niece (miss model) was still shopping, and she showed me what she had picked out so far. She had a powder blue shirt with the number 8 on it, and the number 8 was "distressed" - artificially aged to look years older with the 8 looking like it was flaking and also some jeans that were faded and torn. I asked how much, and she said $80. I loudly told her, "I'll take you to Walmart right now, and you can buy a t-shirt that doesn't look like crap and some jeans which I will pour acid on and tear for you, and it will cost you less than $30, acid included. Come one let's go!"
That pissed her off, and she went back to shopping... until I started moshing (jumping up and down and headbanging) around the store to the loud music they were playing. She then quickly paid for her purchases, and we left.
I've found that the threat of being embarrassed is an excellent way for people to do what I want. :)
