Has anybody flown on Virgin Atlantic to London? |
|
I'm taking my daughter to London in April to visit my niece who'll be going to Oxford for the year. I checked out premium economy after looking at the seating charts and it looked pretty good and the fare was reasonable and it looks there are only 2 seats in each row so i figured she'd have more room and won't make the 3rd person crazy. Thanks.

3. I was in regular economy |
|
and it was just fine for me. I'm not a big guy, so seats on airplanes fit me just fine. I do remember thinking that there was more room that what i was used to on other flights. If you think your daughter will get ancy and need to get up during the flight, maybe the 2 seater premiums are better, but if that isn't the case, i don't know if you should waste the extra money on premium...

4. she may, it's a long flight from San Francisco and i want her to have |
|
a good experience so we can go to Prague the following year, the upcharge is about $250 a ticket but even with that it was still reasonable compared to British Airways and the American Carriers were much higher.

5. Yes, I flew it in June. It was wonderful service. I highly |
|
recommend it. Fairly new 747, on time, and the crew was quite nice.

8. I thought they were pretty comfortable for a long flight |
|
Usually do LA to London, so about the same time in the air. And let's face it, they're honest -- "upper class" "premium" and "economy." One way I describe it to friends is: upper class -- huge seats, down comforters, regular sized pillows. premium -- big seats, full sized blankets, slightly smaller pillows. economy -- seats (period), lap blankets, pot holder pillows.
The first time I flew on Virgin, it was in "economy." I survived, but not terribly comfortable, even though they seat 2-4-2 on the Airbus, and I was on a window. If you're comfortable with the extra cost, go for the premium.

Just stay away from British Airways. They're awful.
