There are all these great Mexican juices that have started to show up around here -- exotic tropical flavors with groovy names. Sure beats the same old apple juice or apricot nectar.

But lately been into Hot and Spicy V8 or just plain tomato juice. Those are acquired tastes I think, but I have acquired them. Used to hate 'em.

And tomato juice is good for your prostate. My family has a history of prostate cancer, so V8 and masturbation, is what the doctor ordered (but never at the same, you confuse which hand is doing what just once and the spicy V8 goes all over causing some nasty chemical burns on your sensitive parts. Then you have to wait weeks to continue your fight against cancer.)

Not grenadine, but just plain juice. V8 is delicious, too, but in really hot weather - like it is here, where they're iving the temperature in Kelvin - limeaid or lemonade.

Apple juice is also a great way to play a joke on people, especially at parties.
I used to fill empty whisky bottles with apple juice, and drink the whole bottle in front of everyone, and they had NO idea why I was still sober. :-)

Much less that people like it. Tomato juice, in and of itself, is very gross to me. I don't think clam's would do much to help that.

38. Obviously you have never had a hangover. Lucky you! |

I tried Clamato once with a hangover and loved the stuff. It was a really good combination of flavors. Now I like to add some salt, pepper and hot sauce to the basic mix, but it is still a great tasting quaff. Make fun of the juice if you wish. Try it once and you'll likely do so again.

there's a billboard in my neighborhood, in Spanish, that currently suggests Clamato y tequila.
It changes, in the past I've seen it say Clamato y cerveza and Clamato y Vodka.

MMMMMMMM! Clamato! Add worcestshire and tabasco and a touch of garlic juice. A little high in salt i guess, but that's ok by me.
I'm also a big fan of most berry flavored juices. The Professor

I love Clamato and V8. Most fruit juices I avoid, because they are so high in sugar, they are just about as fattening as soda! People think they are feeding their kids something healthy when they give them juice all day long--they'd be much better off giving them water.

34. Buy the unsweetened kind. |
|
Seriously, if sugar concerns you so much (and I don't know why it should, since fat is much more "fattening" than sugar), buy unsweetened fruit juices. You can't be honestly trying to tell people that unsweetened fruit juices have almost as much sugar as pop, because that's just not true (pop has ~250 gr/330 ml versus unsweetened fruit juice, ~70 gr/330 ml). Also, fruit juice has the added benefit of having vitamins and minerals (unlike pop), and may be a liquid that parents can actually get their kids to drink instead of pop (unlike water). (I know when I was a kid, my parents would practically have to force me to drink water. I still don't like it unless it's got lime cordial, or at least lemon juice, in it.)

When I was overweight, I drank juice all the time, thinking it was something healthy to put in my body. When I started to lose the weight, I examined the nutritional content of everything I ate, in order to see if it really was something that I should continue to ingest. I remember being shocked by the number of calories (because of the fructose sugar, and yes, it was unsweetened) in a glass of juice. I stopped drinking juice, switched to a gallon of water a day, and it made it much, much easier to lose 40 pounds.
Looking at the obesity rates of American children in 2003, clearly something's not working correctly. I don't have children and don't want them, but the fact is, many parents feed their kids stuff that LOOKS healthy, but isn't. My opinion is that juice is one of those things. You disagree. That's fine.
As a child, I wasn't allowed to have soda OR juice, so your argument about "getting your kids to drink it" doesn't hold (excuse the pun) water with me. Give your kids what you want them to drink and make them drink it. That's what my parents and grandparents did, and it worked fine. People are so unwilling to PARENT their children these days. They want to be FRIENDS. You know what? You're not your kids' friend. You are their PARENT, and are responsible for giving them good nutrition.

I also love wheatgrass juice.

I was at my job (health food store) for over a year before I even attempted wheatgrass. Now, I can take whiskey shots like a champ, but wheatgrass is too much.
I do love to make a juice with mango, pears, peaches & ginger.
