1. Yeah, my sweetheart...
... a notorious "bottom feeder" when it comes to the
gas tank. Has noticed $10.00 doesn't even turn off the
Ya-Need-Gas idiot light.

6. I figured that S.F. broke the $3 barrier...
...it's only a matter of days (hours?) before Silicon Valley catches up.

8. It is not a barrier. A barrier implies resistance or effort is needed.
Using up oil is hardly an effort and our folks in power have known that for 2.5 decades.

I'd say "milestone", ironically...

...comes out to $75 a tank! $75 a TANK!!! Personally, there are many many many many things I would rather spend $75 on.

5. I got gas yesterday and was not pleased..
I was talking to someone on my cell phone and told her REALLY LOUDLY that gee, when Clinton was president, regular gas was $1.09, and that if people are stupid enough to vote for Bush, they must be stupid enough to like paying almost $2.50 for one gallon of regular gas. Dummies.

That's not usually my thing, getting loud in a public place...and just talkin' doesn't do much. But :grr:

12. i LOVE it when i hear the following:
"well, if we went to war for oil, why are the gas prices so high?"

it never occurs to them that we are talking about profit here...lining the pockets of the big oil men, such as the president and vice-president of the US.

7. The thing is

people fill out their gas tanks frequently. And I suspect that as the price keeps climbing, the anger about the price is going to last longer. I think George is in for a very rough time indeed.

9. Interesting. I'm starting to see a correlation between...
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 05:20 PM by EOO
W's low approval rating and high gas prices. Back on 9/11, when W's approval rating was at 90%, gas prices were at $1.50. Now, nearly four years later, W's approval rating is at 38% and gas is at $2.65 and is reaching $3 a gallon. That's nearly DOUBLE!

Am I the only one who's starting to notice that?

17. I'm not sure what you're talking about.
I was thinking more along the lines of angry voters and the demise of Bush's legacy; maybe even a major recovery of congressional seats by the democratic party.
