Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 07:16 PM by Mick Knox
Redneck itself

Redneck Girl
Redneck Woman

The whole blue collar comedy tour marketing these ideas and the CW music scenc pushing that lifestyle?

What do you think?

Am I just too sensitive or is it a little over done?

2. I think the blue collar standups are funny
I saw "Tater Salad" (can never remember that guy's name) on Comedy Central with the SO and we fell out laughing. Then again, I can't really speak to whether its offensive or not, because I'm not part of that demographic.

5. Funny but offensive?
Larry the Cable guy seems pretty racist to me.

Is that funny?

10. Hmm, I dunno
I'm black and I think he's funny. The only thing I had a problem with was his toilet humor (that grosses me out).

But I'm very hard to offend as far as comedy goes. I love Bill Hicks, George Carlin, Chris Rock, etc. I tend to prefer the off-color humor.

He had me in stitches. I need get the DVD, the bleeps got on my nerves after a while (I wish they'd show it in the Comedy Central vault).

4. Just one man's opinion
Some think of me as sort of a hillbilly redneck man. I don't care. In fact, sometimes I take pride in it.
I am in love with a "redneck woman"
Don't holler yeehaaaaww! at events I go to. May holler wooooooooooooo! though.
The Blue Collar Comedy tour is actually kind of funny, imo.
I like old timey country music, but this crap that they try to push, such as Shania Twain, etc. is nothing more than pop music. Clint Black and all the others are entitled to their opinions, just as I am. I don't have to listen to them or buy any of their records. Just my opinion.

7. I redneck friends (including my best friend)
and they love all those things. I think the overemphasized suburban faux-country thing is tacky as hell, but I'm not the target audience.

8. It's racial, of course. And socio-economic.
A person with a pale, Northern European skin-tone, who has to work outdoors in the climate of the American south, develops a chronic sunburn around the head, neck, and hands. When my Dad was driving a tractor for a living, he was mahogany-reddish-brown from the forehead down. From the hat level up, though, pale white.

So I reckon I'm a redneck. Done come by it honest. Ain't voted republican since 1963.

Cain't think of any words that offend me.
