A man walks into a Bath and Body Works...(a true story)
He goes in, looking for some shaving soap, cream, lotion, whatever. He's at the mall to go to the Apple Store anyway, so he figures, it'll save him a trip. This is a man who is secure in the knowledge that he spends more on hair-care products than his girlfriend does, and is only slightly annoyed that she finds that funny.

So he goes in, and there's a whole men's section, and a saleswoman approaches him.

"Here's our best-seller, it's a cream, it's fragrance free."

He says, "that's a definite plus."

She says, "yeah, it's really unnecessary to have fragrance in your shaving cream, because I'm sure you'll already be getting that from your aftershave or cologne."

Man: "Um, yeah."

Saleswoman: "We have a full line for men here, including moisturizer (man: nods), toner, hand and nail care (nods), body wash (nods) and eye cream."

Man: "Eye cream?"

Saleswoman: "It's never too early to start preventing those fine lines and crow's feet, and it's never too late to start minimizing the ones you already have, because let's face it, aging is never fun, I'm dreading the big 2-5 myself..."

The man, 30 and happy about getting out of his 20s, walks out of Bath and Body Works...

1. Are you that man?
I admit, I like going in there. My house is full of their products. The hand soaps, the Bigelow lip care, wallflower plug-ins, etc...

2. I am the girlfriend of that man.
I have a few B&BW items -- their Oat line of skin-care products works well for me, and I have some of their liquid hand soaps.

But getting told you have crow's feet, and that said crow's feet need fixing NOW, is no good for anyone. Heck, I'm grateful for lines around my eyes -- I'd look 19 otherwise (I'll be 30 next month).

4. Yes, crows feet are the greatest threat America faces today.
And yes, I am being exceedingly sarcastic.

5. For men at least, wrinkles are just "character lines."

6. I'm glad he walked out. Age = wisdom. Not the end of superficial looks.
Looks always fluctuate.

And our "society" has been gloss-driven for far too fucking long.

It's so separated and disjointed from the reality of BEING human that... yuck. Yuck yuck yuck.

Keep your TV set. I shall exterminate mine.

:wtf:

Wow, I guess I'm almost over the hill at the ripe old age of 24 then.

8. Wow - this is the second time I feel really old today.
The first was when I mentioned "Nadia's Theme" and Fen said, "Who?" :D

9. Wasn't that the Luke and Laura theme
from GH back in the early 80s?
