Money can do great things. It can change lives for the better. This perversion of the real true-ism is like something cooked up by the Catholic church of Quebec in the 19th Century: 'money is evil so give it to us.'

A google search is nearly evenly split between the 2. The phrase "Money is the root of all evil" returns 58,000 pages while "the love of money..." returns 50,700.

Another often twisted saying is "All good things in moderation" which, perhaps thanks to marketing campaigns, is now more commonly cited as "All things in moderation." Like the money quote, there is a huge difference between the two version.

All good things in moderation - plays on the paradox of something being good up to a point but bad/harmful when taken to excess.

All things in moderation - has a kind of fatalistic, materialistic angle to it. It is akin to saying 'well you're going to die of something, might as well __________'

Google has 542 pages for 'All good things...' and 21,100 for "all things..."
