Does anyone else not give a damn about the Royal scandal?

I've no idea what the scandal is and I care even less.

2. So far there have been
about 20 threads on this scandal 'no one' cares about. :D

PS...and you should care. It's a concerted effort to rid your closest ally of it's monarchy.

6. Who's Royals
That's right, the British Royalty. We fought a little war to get away from those inbred folks. I'm not one of their "subjects", I wouldn't bow to any of them if I were to meet any, and I sure as shit stinks don't give a damn about whatever the hell they are doing this week.

Royalty....so fucking what?

8. As I said
it's an effort by republicans to remove the royal family from England.

You remember England? America's closest ally?

They could also give you some pointers about how to turn a country against an institution and family that's been around for a couple of thousand years.

And you want to chuck out Bush and install Dems do you not?

Pay attention.

You better hit the history bucks, Chuckles.

And as for British Royalty in general, I could give a shit. The Queen can wear a rubber chicken suit for all I care. Screw 'em all.

27. We're insular and arrogant
because we don't care about another country's outdated monarchy? BWAH! There are a lot of reasons to call us insular and arrogant, but this isn't one of them.

The people who bought every one of the 476 different editions of People magazine with Princess Diana on the cover are also probably, IMO, some of the people who care the least about what is going on in the rest of the world.

To answer the OP's question, I'm registering a zero on the care-o-meter.

12. Who cares
about the royals. Royalty is a ridiculously anachronistic institution that serves no purpose in today's society.

They take a dump and wipe their asses like every other human being on this planet. They should just become private citizens and work for a living like everyone else.

JMHO :-)

13. "Methinks I smell the stench of revolution in the air!"
Before you act in haste, remember England of yore....

Woman: "I didn't know we had a king. I thought we were an autonomous collective"

Dennis: "You're fooling yourself. We live in a dictatorship, a self-perpetuating autocracy in which the working classes..."

Woman: "Oh, there you go, bringin' class into it again"

Dennis: "That's what its all about...If only people would..."

King Arthur: "Please!"

and

Woman "Who are you"

Arthur: "I am Arthur, king of the Britons"

Woman: "Who are the Britons?"

Arthur: "We all are. We are all Britons. And I am your king!"

Woman: "I didn't know we had a king. I thought we were an autonomous collective!"

26. There's a Royal Scandal?
Well, fuck 'em. Let 'em scandal all they want. Inbred, largely useless royals have been scandaling throughout history. It was a real problem when they actually ran things.

There are royal families all over Europe, and they usually just mind their own business. Even Japan keeps its Emperor under wraps most of the time. Germany, Italy, and France can't find theirs any more. Anyone heard what the Wittelsbachs are doing lately? What's the Dauphin up to? I heard there is actually a Dauphin somewhere.

Royal families are artifacts in democracies, and should just be seen and not heard, if that much. Britain's been selling their royals for years as a tourist attraction, and it's now biting them in the ass. Let them scandal themselves back into obscurity whre they belong.

32. i can't say i find it especially compelling...
I was under the impression that all upper class Brits indulged in gay experimentation. I don't see what the big deal is. If I was expected to marry a depressed anorexic virgin as part of my duties as a prince, I certainly wouldn't feel compelled to refrain from finding entertainment elsewhere from time to time. They should leave the man alone; he might not have the most sandwiches at the picnic, but he's one of the good guys, tries to support the environment and the coal miners and all that. He could have just spent his time fox hunting. Sheesh.

33. Folks: It's "couldn't care less"...
The expression is "couldN'T care less.." x(

To say that you "could care less.." means that you do, on some level, care. You're unwittingly contradicting yourselves, and I don't think you mean to do that.

Not to be the grammar police here. It's just that on a topic where you are expressing extreme ennui about the royals, it's a better to be clear.

And now, I couldn't care less about Charles buggering a servant.

40. I'm gonna be entirely honest here
'Cause you guys are like family.
Group hug.
I have *no* secrets from you!

I love all scandal, gossip, dirt, etc.
(Unless it's politically motivated like
the "vast (for real) right wing conspiracy"
against the Clintons.

And I actually did care about Princess Di,
and thought she cared back about people.
And I hate the "royals" for how they treated,
and perhaps murdered, her.

But the vague nature of this particular supposed
"scandal" is...weird.
