I walked in the grass and my feet got attacked by fire ants. I am hating Texas right now.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No offense (and us hicks get it all the time when we enter the urban environment) but it kinda reminds me of the time my sister-in-law showed up at the ranch with 6 inch spike high heels. And white clothes.

1. I almost feel like a bad friend... |
|
for not making him a list of all the things a person needs in rural Texas in the summer. And another list of things not to do...like walking through fire ant mounds. :)

12. Several of us told him what to take |
|
We all said sunscreen, water, light clothing, etc. Bug repellant was mentioned for the mosquitos, but did anybody mention ants?
We had a whole thread going the other night to tell him how to stop the pain.

2. Fire Ants - I hate the fuckers |
|
I used to dream about ways to murder them
Another reason why I'm glad that I didn't stick around Austin for long.

we don't have the bastards in AZ - but we do have just about every other sharp, barbed, stinging, biting, poisonous or otherwise painful examples of flora and fauna there are!

5. Wait, you could pee on yourself |
|
that's what they did in an episode of Friends when they needed ammonia to soothe the sting. And it worked too!

8. I don't know him so I don't know if it is humility |
|
but it might just be complaining about the PAIN.
(I got attacked by bees yesterday - got away with only three stings but they were pissed! Had them in may hair and a couple dozen made it in the house. When I told folks about it - it wasn't humility it was PAIN and bitching)
