Things you loved most as a kid |
|
I liked snow sledding. That was fun. Also going to carnivals and riding on all those dizzying rides. I also liked watching Saturday morning cartoons and recieving prizes in my cereal box.
What about you? What things did you love as a kid?

I liked to build model cars, too, and not just for the paint and glue... :smoke:

Fireworks at the fairgrounds on the Victoria Day weekend (May24). Cicadas. Swimming at the town pool. Tobogganing at the golf course, getting cold feet and going to my grandmother's to sit with my feet in the oven of her cook stove, drinking hot chocolate.

8. What a wonderful, nostalgia-inducing thread! |
|
Chasing lightning bugs in the back yard.
Harvesting four o'clock seeds and pretending they were little hand grenades.
Picking Rose of Sharon flowers and pretending they were dolls (look at one; they look like they belonged in "Gone With The Wind!")
Playing "Red Rover" and making up other games.
Playing kickball in the street, as well as basketball, softball and tackle football with the boys.
Our annual Memorial Day trips to graves, when we'd stop at the Derby Star and Lo-Mar in Eureka, Kansas for pop and ice cream, respectively.
Sitting on the porch with my parents listening to the cicadas and collecting their shells on our screen door.

We used to call them Lady Fingers - they were huge, too.
