BCS shakeup - Ohio State will be #3
#1 Oklahoma - WIN
#2 USC - idle
#3 Florida State - LOSS
#4 Miami - LOSS
#5 Ohio State - WIN
#6 Virginia Tech - LOSS
#7 LSU - idle
#8 Michigan - idle
#9 TCU - WIN
#10 Georgia - idle

The top three on Monday will be
#1 - Oklahoma
#2 - USC
#3 - Ohio State

I'd put LSU at #4 because they have only one loss while the rest all have 2.

As for the battle to play Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl, Ohio State DOES have the chance to overtake USC. The margin in the BCS polls will shrink from 4.5 points to 2 points (teams lost that help Ohio State, but were below USC, so doesn't help them).

With OSU playing 2 teams likely ranked in the Top 10 and USC playing an average schedule the rest of the way, there could be a change. Be on the lookout for some fierce battles down the stretch!

LSU will be in the Rose Bowl or the Fiesta Bowl, Ohio State will be in the Rose Bowl if everything holds out as well.

16. Hummm ya'll answer me this....why should OSU be ranked higher than LSU...
...all they did was beat MSU...hell Louisiana Tech beat MSU and LSU beat the hell outta Tech last week...so technically shouldn't LSU be ranked higher than OSU???

18. They actually beat 4 ranked teams
Edited on Sat Nov-08-03 11:53 PM by VermontDem2004
#14 Washington, #9 Iowa, #22 NC State, #15 Michigan State. I know Florida is ranked now and LSU lost to unranked Florida team at that time, when OSU lost to Wisconsin they were ranked #19.

19. And Cincinnati should be ranked higher than Florida State, Miami,
and Va Tech by that logic. And UAB higher than all those teams.

Ohio State was ranked ahead of LSU in the BCS rankings this week, and Ohio State's SOS just got better with the MSU game. That's how OSU is ranked ahead of LSU in AWD's projection.

25. Oh, I know.
I'm just playing, too. I may sound worked up when I talk college football, but I'm not. Well, maybe a little.

As for OSU's last two games, I hope they win and think they can, but this Ohio State team worries me. I wouldn't be shocked if they lost one or both of those games. I've vowed not to get high blood pressure during the games at any rate, but it's hard for me.

28. I know how that feels
ASU a very talented team this year just feel flat on their face this year. One thing I noticed about this team is they have no fight in them, once they get behind 10 points they just seem to give up. But after the got smoked at home by Cal I just gave up hope in this team this year and all I can hope for is a better team this year. Maybe Dirk Koetter should go back to Boise State.

27. LSU's schedule
LSU has played the 63rd hardest schedule so far, OSU 20th (and that will get tougher, having faced a ranked team today).

That actually is the difference right now.

2. Yikes! Michigan a two loss team will likely be in the Sugar Bowl
Edited on Sat Nov-08-03 11:42 PM by VermontDem2004
USC could possibly lose to Oregon State or UCLA or both. Ohio State hopefully will lose to Michigan, LSU might lose to Arkansas or Ole Miss or whoever plays in the SEC championship if they make it that far.

3. OSU/UM can NEVER be predicted
No team EVER has the advantage in that series....but Ohio State is clearly better coached this year.

the winner of that game, as usual, decides A LOT!

6. You're kidding about SC , right?
If they lose it because they all bet heavily against themselves and are planning on leaving school.

no WAY SC loses . OK. a slim possibility as in all college ball.
But seriously dude. Have you seen them PLAY?

City championship to SC . again. :grr:

8. Yes I went to the USC vs ASU game
I seen them in person, I also seen Oregon State and UCLA play this year and I seen USC lose to the California fucking Golden Bears. If Derek Anderson doesn't throw 4 interceptions like he does almost every game Oregon State has a great chance. With the exception of Auburn they haven't had to face a real good running game.

Come on, they aren't dieties - they're kids.

They are the class of the NCAA, but let's not just build alters to them and offer up our virgin daughters for their pleasure just yet.

15. There are no holes in that Oklahoma team
From the QB, to special teams, to the defensive line, all around they have argurably the best players at their positions. I didn't suggest building alters and offering up our virgin daughters or anything, I just don't see any holes in that team to be beated but of course a great team has to catch on a bad day to have a chance against them.

17. That I can agree with.
I don't see any problems with that team, and I think they are scary good. I don't see them losing, for the record. I'm just sayin' . . . unbeatable?

Words like unbeatable and invincible are silly in conversations about college football. "Oklahoma in unbeatable" and "Oklahoma can beat three NFL teams*" are things Trev Alberts and Mark May might say. In fact, the * denotes a phrase one of those idiots actually said today. I don't mean to get off topic, but Trev is the Rush Limbaugh of College Football. And May is the Hannity.

20. I don't think the College All Star team can beat an NFL team
But I don't see any team that can match up to Oklahoma but a team can have a bad game but for Oklahoma to lose they would have to have a bad game against a great college football team.

29. Nobody's ALWAYS wrong...
....I was being facetious. But he's wrong A LOT.

He picked against Ohio State in EACH of the final 6 games last season. Even said that Miami would win by 21 points.

Best thing I ever saw with him...before the game, he predicted Michigan would beat Minnesota.

At halftime, with Minnesota winning, he claimed he was wrong and changed his pick to Minnesota.

Michigan came back to win. he NEVER said a word about it during the post-game.

31. Yeah. I've never seen someone be wrong on a flip-flop before.
When he said that, I turned to whoever I was watching that game with and predicted a Michigan victory based on Trev now picking against them. I was kidding, but it turned out to be the case.

What a moran.

last year. Oregon was even winning 35-17 at one point, ASU rallied and won 45-42, Alberts said nothing about it.

36. Trev Alberts never said Miami was unbeatable last year
In fact, he dropped the 'Canes behind Oklahoma in '02 after Miami struggled against FSU (1 point home win), and said the Sooners would handily defeat Miami in the Fiesta Bowl.

Mark May was the goof who picked Miami 42-10 over the Buckeyes. Even Trev chuckled at that absurdity.

But you're right about Trev understating OSU throughout '02. In midseason, he even insisted Iowa was 14 points superior to the Buckeyes on a neutral field.

As a Miami native but USC grad, I'm completely satisfied with the last two weeks. Especially if they earn Brock Berlin his rightful place holding a clipboard. I simply can't stomach another season of that turnover machine and his 5-minute ramblings about God.

My Excel model of the BCS formula is not perfect, but seems to indicate USC will nip Ohio State for #2 if both win out. I don't think the average fan has any idea how much strength of schedule is overplayed in the BCS. The last minute TD drop by Auburn vs. Ole Miss, for example, could end up deciding the Sugar Bowl matchup.

12. Michigan and TCU following at 5th and 6th?
If TCU finishes in the top six of the BCS, aren't they guaranteed a spot in one of the BCS bowls? And if they win out, I think they will finish that hi.

13. Yes
Any team that finishes in the top 6 in the BCS will be guaranteed a BCS bowl game. I would have to say either USC, LSU, or Ohio State only one would have to lose for TCU to finish that high. They played one of the weakest schedules in college football, but they will have to rely alot on average poll position but I think they will be routed by the team they face in a BCS bowl game.

37. NO ONE is beating Oklahoma
Sorry, I just don't see it happening. This Michigan fan thinks Michigan would surely get clobbered (though it would take a miracle for them to be playing in the Sugar Bowl, thanks Oregon). And I really don't think Ohio State has enough of an offense to keep up with OU - and USC is vastly overrated this year.

At least Miami's out of it. That's always worth a smile
