Thank you, everyone, for your kinds words and messages (Trinity)
I just got off the phone with the vet.

The autopsy is back, and the cause of death was liver failure.

A heart problem was also detected.

I'm right back where I started.

She was such a special cat.

He's mailing the results to me, and I'm going to talk to a feline specialist.

There is a question as to whether the valium he prescribed added to her condition.

Again, thanks and a big hug to you all.

14. I want to see if the valium he prescribed caused it
I need to wait until I get the paperwork in the mail, and then consult with an expert.

24. It doesn't make you feel less sad, but at least you know now
that it was not some cleaning fluid or something the others might "catch"..

You know..I am almost anti-vet these days.. Our cats are indoorsies, and since they come into contact with no other animals or the outside ground, I keep them away from the vets' office.. I don;t even get them shots..(have read some bad stuff about them in recent years)..

the ONLY time I have ever had a 'sick" kittie, has been when they have returned FROM the vets'..(neutering surgery)...

Nothing YOU did was responsible, so that's a weight off your shoulders..

25. warmest wishes for finding the answers you seek
liver failure in a 3 yo .... that certainly raises questions if there were no other indicators beforehand
though liver issues are often more difficult to identify than other illnesses

it takes a special person to follow through on how/what happened but i can see why you would want to know

its never easy
but sending you good vibes in case it helps at all
