I finally saw "Ray" last night. WOW. |
|
Not only is it a modern classic, but I finally got to see Booger, Wicket the Ewok, the voice of Big Smoke, Wanda the Ugly Girl and Geoge Luz in one place. Nah, but really, an incredible film.

1. I agree. I thought it was a little too long, but a great movie. |
|
Foxx does an exceptional job.

2. I thought it was pretty horrible actually. |
|
Painfully slow, poorly acted (except Foxx), and it didn't tell me jack about his life, other than that he was a drug addict and a piece of crap (aka, adulterer). Jamie Foxx did an awesome job, but the movie itself was just atrocious. (My own fallible opinion, of course)

4. OK, I just can not stand it any more |

What is that picture on the right from? The one with the line "made by the presbyterian church"?
It's been bugging me all day.
As for Ray. Great movie and I loved seeing Curtis Armstrong with a meaty role.
A great companion piece is Tom Dowd & The Language of Music. It is a documentary about recording engineer and producer Tom Dowd. You may have caught his name in Ray as he built his custom studio for him. He and Ray Charles had a great relationship and Mr. Charles is in the film.
He also worked with Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton and many others. If you love the music of the last 50 years it's a must see.

it's a Japanese bootleg copy of Revenge of the Sith which has been VERY poorly translated. Here's the link to the rest: http://americaninlebanon.blogspot.com/2005/07/backstroke-of-west.html

5. As a huge Ray charles fan |
|
I loved it. I was surprised to learn he played piano in Lowell Fulson's band---I am also a fan of Fulson (great blues player) and I had no idea Ray was in his band
The music in the film was exceptional
