and i'm tired. :( should i be a good wife and go swimming with him, and come back smelling of chlorine? or should i continue to ignore his requests, and post on DU all night until i pass out?

Since you didn't give us the "other" choice, I voted Bite me, progmom!
BUT I think what you should do is go out by the pool with him, and just keep him company....
This way you don't come in smelling of chlorine, and he's happy you're there!

Roughly 98% of people who swim after dark are seriously, even fatally, injured. Don't be a statistic.
Unless you would prefer to be, of course.
