Okay, what the fark is this about?
I was having a conversation with somebody from the small, rural town where I used to live. Apparently an 11-yr-old boy was caught downloading porn in the classroom. He'd been distributing it around the school and threatened to kill anybody who ratted him out. Yeah, he's in deep trouble. But what astonishes me is the fact that his parents defend his behavior and have admitted to giving him porno magazines since he was five years old...FIVE YEARS OLD!... on "special occasions". Birthdays and such. What the hell is wrong with people? What can POSSIBLY have been going through these peoples' minds when they bought Playboy for their first-grader?

3. Maybe you think I'm joking. I'm not.
We actually moved from this town when my daughter was in first grade. One incentive was an incident at the school where her little friends threatened to kill her because she was going to reveal their plan to kill another little girl. Weird stuff, no?

4. LMAO. Not about that particular comestible, I'm sure.
Can't say, except this story was only one among many. MANY! I'm so darned glad we moved from that place!

5. Question: When you say porno, and then say Playboy
Do you know if they were giving him nudey magazines like Playboy, or actual porno stuff with literal sex acts? The latter would be a crime, even for the parents.

As for why, some people believe that our attitudes towards sex lead to repressed, violent adults, and that demystification of sex from an early age leads to more responsible, mature attitudes as an adult. Not condoning nor condemning, just explaining.

6. Good point. I don't know exactly what magazines the boy was
given. I suppose that I used the term "porno" unadvisedly. It was the word used by my neighbor and he didn't elaborate. However I have a five-year-old son and it seems obvious to me that exposing him to any pictoral material which focuses on female sexuality exclusively is a big mistake. No, I don't mean "mistake". It's a big, stupid, dumbass thing to do.
