2. It is the totalitarian mentality
however, there is also an equivalent of it on the left as well. I mean, look at Stalin.

I think it is the legacy of facism that is disturbing. Facism, just like any other way of thinking in its purest form, is also harmful and dangerous.

4. If you "Sieg Heil" wrong for an extended time, it leads to tendonitis!
And we wouldn't want that, especially with the Pukes repealing all the ergonomics laws....

5. Nothing wrong with fascism at all...
we wouldn't have to listen to all this BS about human rights, FAUX fair and balanced, people who fight for particular interests masking them as the interests of mankind etc. And fascism would be so much cheaper. What's the reason to have parties, a congress, 30 TV-channels and 79 newspapers if the only goal they have is to sell the interests of the few as the interests of all of us, if they all sell the same neoliberal agenda to us. It's simply to expensive to sell one colour and one agenda as if there would be 100 colours.
I pray to the god of capitalism and market society: fascism is so much cheaper. Get rid of all those parliaments and congresses and parties. Just give the power directly to Halliburton and the Deutsche Bank. It would save so much effort and work.
Hello from Germany,
Dirk

6. Hah! And they say that irony is dead....
The worst thing about fascism is having to clean the blood off of your culotes.

7. The art.
It's trash. The movies are dull as dishwater. And don't get me started on the music.

11. All command economies break down
Because the people in power never get accurate enough information, because the people who report to them tend to tell them exactly what they *want* to hear, to save their own skins.

Note that one of the stories about why we still haven't found WMD's is that nobody wanted to be the one to have to tell Saddam that the aluminum tubes he bought were the wrong size for the centrifuges. (Not that I believe that story, but that's one version of the spin. And it's a version the neocons probably believe, because they all know exactly how rigidly heirarchical cultures work.)

The ultimate outcome is the Potemkin village. Extra effort is spent on window dressing to keep the Great Leader happy, and the populace ends up even worse off.

14. Not so much the ugly shirts, as the prominently displayed belts
Just tacky.

Could never support fascism because of it.

That and I'd have to go from a martini paradigm to a wine or brandy paradigm, and I'm not ready for that adjustment, either. But fascists definitely aren't allowed to drink gin.

15. actually, if you're using the pure definition not much
Corporatism is an effective governing style used in many European nations today. It was the dictatorial nature of the German, Italian and Spanish strains of the 20s, 30s, and 40s that is what has become synonymous with the evils of fascism.

20. It's the mental image I have of John Ashcroft
standing in his boudoir, wearing only a large pair of boxers, black knee-hi socks and his black work shoes. He is standing in front of a full length mirror, watching him whip himself on the back because he just did a very dirty thing.

THAT'S whats wrong with fascism
