Nicole Richie's bug eyes

I have nothing against this girl; in fact, I rather like her (she's certainly less objectionable than Paris Hilton). But WHY does she insist on wearing ever huger sunglasses? I know that's the latest celebrity trend, but is it her goal to find a pair that's actually larger than her head? She's well on her way!
