Everyone I knew wore jeans and t shirts. You had to tuck in the shirt and roll the sleeves then (progmom and I are around the same age). I made the comment that she looked so young because she did. So many of the girls I see around town now don't look 16. Their clothes are too short and too tight and they wear makeup that I could only get away w/ wearing when I was in a school play.
The point was that back then we both looked our age. We didn't look like we were trying to play at being "grown-up women".
