most times charlie horses are caused by too much calcium or too little potassium (banana)

2. Sorry -- from someone who knows your pain. |
|
I hate waking up to one of those. Sometimes I'll be so disoriented that I'll jump out of bed in pain and promptly fall on my ass. So unpleasant.

6. If it is in your calf... |
|
flex your foot towards the ceiling as hard as you can. The cramp will go away immediately.

9. This is a great idea, worked for me.... |
|
I got to the point where I'd feel it, flex my foot, and go back to sleep in about 30 seconds flat.
Before that it was horrible.

10. The worst is when you feel it coming on, and it's past the point where |
|
you know it can be stopped. You're not feeling the pain yet, but you know it's coming and it's inevitable.
On the plus side, one of my doggies always comes to lick my face in concern when I wake up screaming in agony from one of these.

11. I've woken up to those before. |
|
Mainly because my damn cat comes and lays on the bed with me in the night, and I end up contorting myself into all these strange positions just so she's comfortable.

12. Ohh, those fuckers hurt! |
|
Pardon my French, but damned they do!
I used to work a night shift, and woke up one day with one, and I was very disoriented. I was yelling, "stop...FUCK me....stop.....owwwwww fuck me." Then, I came to and realized how that must have sounded to the neighbors...LOL.
