Anyone know anything about downloading movies online? |
|
I don't mean shareware or anything, but a site where you can download a movie and pay for it to watch it on your computer? I've found some but I don't understand how they work, they want you to buy membership. i just want one or two movies and i'm willing to pay for them, just would rather watch them on my computer. i don't know why, i'm wierd.
any ideas?

2. Every site I know of wants you to sign up as well... |
|
It's a way to get more money out of you. I think it's best to just go buy the DVD you want. Either that, or try "NetFlix".

4. The sites you have found are scams.. |
|
I imagine they charge you for links to p2p programs..
I don't know of any legal download sites for movies. And I read slashdot everyday so I know about this stuff.
I also think Apple will be the first to offer legal downloads of movies.

5. I think it's all illegal right now. |
|
I think the film companies/Apple/whoever would be shouting it from the rooftops, being able to download films.

where you can pay a certain amount of money and if not download, at least watch a movie, streaming, from the site. that would be cool
i'm too lazy to get a membership to a video store and i'm too forgetful to take the movies back when i rent them :eyes:

7. Netflix is calling your name, LOL. |
|
Seriously--all you have to do is go to your mailbox, and they have a bigger selection than any video store I've ever been to. The only drawback is waiting the day or two for the movie. :(
I mean, you can do it online, but you're not *supposed* to. I don't know what I feel about it yet. I think some actors (and for some reason Morgan Freeman is popping into my head?) and people are trying to get streaming movies allowed. I think it's in the near future, but obviously that doesn't help you if you want to watch something now.

That we will have a legal dowload service.. Until then I am sticking with bittorrent for movies. And I bet when it comes they base it off the code for bittorrent. Like you get credits for how much you upload.. I bet that would piss off Comcast and SBC.
