I love how they showed what a flawed person he was...as well as being a genius.

it should have gone to Don Cheadle for Hotel Rwanda, but the Oscars are all about hype. Pttth.

Saw it in the theater. Seemed like there was a lot of unnecessary directorial masturbation going on. Read the liner notes to the "Ray" soundtrack, and it was pretty much confirmed.
Glad the ticket was free.

16. I thought he did great work.. |
|
and the film exceded my expectations.
Tom Cruise outacted Foxx by a mile in Collateral, though. I'm not sure why he got a nomination for that film.
But I gotta love Foxx. I'm a Texas girl and he's from Terrell.

15. I bought the DVD....we watched it on the night the Oscars were on.... |
|
IMHO, it deserved all the Oscars it got....
Beautifully made, outstanding soundtrack, (naturally) great story!
I probably did cry at the end...I normally do, and it doesn't take much...but this was a profoundly moving movie...
I did also love "Hotel Rwanda" but for me, "Ray" was the superior film...
