What's real home cooking for you?
For me it's real mashed potatoes, pot roast, fruit pie, chicken and dumplings, potato pancakes, and chicken soup.

2. Anything Mama made
Except she told My Sister and I that cookies came from France and that other parents ordered them and that's why she didn't make them.

She also made the worse pancakes in the world.

I loved her food and I miss her cooking.

9. Thanks!
I like political discussion but I seem to post about food the most since I've started reading the forums. I must be hungry for some good food.

8. I'm Minnesotan... so that means HOTDISH.
Pick a meat (hamburger and diced chicken are most common)
Pick a starch (noodles or rice)
Pick a Cream of *.* soup
Add onions, mushrooms, or whatever other veggies you want.
Bake & enjoy.

Uff da, dat's a good hotdish!

14. I haven't had home cooking in SOOO long...
Before my dad died, it was Sunday mornings. He'd make scrambled eggs once a month with green onions and hot links, bacon, and buscuits which we smothered in syrup. Every other sunday it was fried eggs, over easy, to perfection.
And before my grandmother died, she made the best meatloaf, to this day no one can imitate.
Now it's just Thanksgiving and Christmas.
