When posting in GD, what are your criteria for a "good post" ?
Either to read it, reply to it or post one yourself. Funny ? Informative ? Well thought out ? Thought provoking ? I'm really curious to hear your thoughts.

explain why you see my name so rarely in GD.

When I look for a good post, I look for one that explains a subject of interest or asks a valid question.

When some hot new topic is broached, there will often be myriad threads to chose from offering comment. Many are overwritten pleas for attention littered with grandiose hyperbole. I avoid those.

Many other posts are designed to create sweeping generalisations that insult a segment of the population or heap blame on them for our problems. I avoid those.

The vast majority of posts are barely concealed informal logical fallacies (http://www.drury.edu/ess/Logic/Informal/Overview.html). I avoid those.

All too few are concise, compelling, informative and well-written. I read those. Apparently, I'm the only one.

10. LOL sometimes I agree with that
I am always mystified why some of my threads do the jump off the bridge routine. I did a MLK-like thread yesterday and boom, down like a bad habit.

6. Does that apply to the Lounge as well?
If so, I'm the greatest poster around.

8. It happens to most of us, primate1.
It's hard when you put a lot of energy into what you consider to be a really good post, and nobody replies so the thread just goes out of sight even though you're sure that people would like it if only it would stay at the top a bit longer. It's not as hard when it's a light post, although I usually don't start those kinds of threads. (Not that there's anything wrong with them.)

9. I mostly post light stuff, but it's still annoying
Especially when my posts are pre-approved as hilarious by me.
