Poll question: Which is the biggest stinker among the movies listed here?
Here's my general criteria for picking the movies I've listed:

-- They have to have widespread reputations for being first-class stinkers, they can't just be movies that you or I strongly disliked.

-- They can't be extremely low-budget movies. Those kinds of films have an excuse for being poor.

-- They can't be intentionally and knowingly bad, like the Troma films.

-- This is just a personal random bias on my part, but they have to be relatively recent (as in, within the past 30 years).

One interesting thing is that most of the movies I've listed are ones that were pseudo-musicals and/or made to capitalize on some cheeseball pop singer's stardom -- for example, "Can't Stop the Music" featured the Village People, "Cool as Ice" was Vanilla Ice's attempt to act, and "From Justin to Kelly" attempted to make a quick buck from American Idol.

1. Does "Cool as Ice" involve Vanilla Ice?
In that case, I'd go with that. He sucked dog poop.

Xanadu rocks though! Come on, Gene Kelly, roller skating, and ancient muses. Talk about powerful film-making. One of my cheesy childhood favorites! :headbang:

2. Don't forget Ishtar
You would have thought Warren Beatty and Dustin Hoffman could save anything.........

3. I actually like Ishtar...
I think it gets a bad rap... it bogs down in a couple places, and isn't an all-favorite, but I think the songs are hilariously bad, and enjoy the reversal of Hoffman being the chick magnet and Beatty being the guy that the women don't go for.

But then again, I kinda like Hudson Hawk, too.

7. Guess I'm lucky to have missed...
... all of those. These, I didn't miss, but wish I had:

"Trail of the Pink Panther" (awful)
"Curse of the Pink Panther" (worse than awful)

"Police Academy 6" (worse than the first five put together, and that's a real trick)

"Armageddon" (managed all of twenty minutes of that one)

"Rambo III" (five minutes of that one)

10. Sort of watched Jurrasic Park III last night.
Talk about going to the well once too often! This is the kind of movie Ed Wood would've made if he'd had the budget.

15. Yeah but you can't include Showgirls - it's so campy bad it's a classic
whereas the other movies I wouldn't waste 2 minutes watching but I actually own a copy of Showgirls

17. I have only seen Howard the Duck and Showgirls
and haven't seen Howard the Duck since I was a child and remember liking it then. As for Showgirls, well I got everything I expected out of that movie.

I recommend you all avoid "Alexander" though. I watched that last night purely out of curiosity and it was terrible.

19. I liked Howard the Duck!
Howard the Duck was the first movie to have "invisible" wires for making characters fly.

And Lea Thompson was very cute in that film. Cuteness is very important.
