Good vibes/prayer request. I don't usually ask for this, but
since we have a good many people here, I thought I may as well do so.

My husband's step-dad is in the hospital w/ congestive heart failure; he's in a regular room now and seems to be resting comfortably. I'm really worried.

He's been in and out of the hospital for the past couple of weeks.

He had a heart attack a couple of weeks ago (they found a blockage), but are unable to do a bypass for a couple of reasons (because of where the blockage is, his weight and some health conditions he has). They're going to try some new drugs to treat the congestive heart failure.

Thanks, in advance, for the prayers. He's fairly young (early 60s at most).

Val

7. You have my thoughts
 Here's hoping they can get him stable. Then, maybe he can lose some weight and fix the other problems that keep him from a bypass.

My sister-in-law had industrial strength bypass surgery years ago, and she's great now!

9. My hubbie had CHF a couple of months ago
They found part of his quadruple bypass had failed. He was medicated for several days with lasix (gets rid of excess fluid around heart) and something else, before they thought it safe to clear the blockage. They actually had to piggyback stents, but he is home and well. Well, almost. They have found another blockage in a vein to his kidney, which they are now going to go in and clear.

Honest, CHF is very serious, but doable. I'm sending good thoughts and prayers your way. As an aside, stem cell treatment has been done experimentally, and appears to be successful. What a wonderful day it would be if my hubbie could have some new veins. Good luck to you.
