So I lost my job....
the word is that my boss put me to work on some stuff last month that I didn't really know how to do, so I kept asking for help and he kept blowing me off.

Friday he called me into his office and told me that he was really angry that I hadn't finished the stuff he assigned to me, and my skills just weren't right for my position and he was going to have to let me go.

fuckin' lame.

I talked to two of my colleagues and they agreed that he should have, like, helped me instead of firing me, and who else is going to do the work? my two remaining colleagues are going to go on vacation in the next month, and they won't have time.

it's his fuckin' funeral.

6. That sounds like such a corny thing to say but it is true. This may very
well turn out to be one of the best things to have happened to you in a long time.

Keep a positive attitude, get your resume updated, and be prepared for wonderful surprises.

do. It's a chance to get away from some shitty working conditions. I wonder how so many idiots like that get into management positions.

16. well, your boss is an idiot - but you already knew that
sorry to hear about that happening to you. I hope you find something else soon. If not, though - I don't think they can deny your claim if you file for unemployment. You didn't quit & this was no fault of your own, so you should be able to get unemployment if need be.

My condolences... & good luck!

Edited on Sun Aug-14-05 11:49 PM by I Have A Dream
It's part of his job to be there when you need him.

I remember you saying how much you hated where you live, so, as you said, it's an opportunity to make a change. I hope that you find a place that you love and a job that feeds your body and soul.

We'll be here if you need a shoulder to cry on.

24. What a dick
It almost seems like he set you up--purposely giving you an assignment you didn't understand then refusing to give you assistance on it. Then he fired you for not being able to fix the mess he created.

I hope he gets what he deserves.
