1. Yes, most of them
Of course, teasing can be in fun or done cruelly, depending on who and how. I know, not much of an answer. But in short, yes :)

2. If they know each other well, then it's normal.
If they don't know each other, or they're acting out some kind of death match, then no, it's not normal.

Then again, what is normal? Here, I mean it as Acceptable. (to me, not as a universal cultural more)

3. In my experience, yes, HypnoToad, people do....
The good teasing is between people who like and respect one another, and who still want to have some fun...

Bad teasing on the other hand, happens when there is hostility....

You are kidding me, aren't you?

I walk into these every damn time....when will I learn?

Enjoy!

7. Well, you sound a bit like me...
If I don't know someone well (and even if I do) sometimes I just cannot tell if the teasing is friendly or not...

I tend to take things literally and this can complicate my life a lot...

It helps to know who is talking to you...and what they really think of you...

And it also helps to trust your own innate judgement...Your gut feelings...

4. Yes if they like them, it is fun in familiar territory.
The group has to have a good sense of humor.

6. yeah - ribbing a pal is okay, but gently
it's one of the hallmarks of familiarity - provided you can give as well as take.

It's kind of like tickling someone - a little annoying and you wouldn't find it acceptable at all from a stranger, but from a friend, you put up with it all other things being equal.
