Lots of good violence. An excellent western! Love James Coburn (I think that was him - or else that ther guy that I always confuse him with)

Always wanted to see it, never get the chance. Won't get the chance tonight either, LOL. But thanks for the heads up.
Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen....grrowl.....
Brynner's kid was a fan of McQueen's from a tv show, that's how he ended up in the film. Read Brynner's bio by same kid awhile ago, I think that's right.
Man...screw homework! Guess I'll have to find this one on DVD.

6. McQueen: "You get elected?" Brynner: "No, but I got nominated real good." |
|
Acknowledging the near-miss bullet in the opening sequence, where Chris and Vin drive the hearse to boot hill in order to bury the Indian, who is unwanted even in the graveyard by the more reactionary townspeople.
It's always terrific to see all the actors in this picture -- you can see why each one of them became a big star.
Thanks for the "magnificent" heads-up.

He passed away recently. As a youngster, this was one of my favorite films and Horst was dreamy!

8. McQueen: Reminds of the guy who fell off a 10 story building... |
|
Every floor, they heard him say, "So far, so good."
Haven't seen this in years. What fun!

I worked for the law firm that handled McQueen's estate.
It was fascinating reading through his film contracts and such. On each of his films he demanded a certain number and type of motorcycles be available for him at all times. (It was quite an extensive list.) His personal mechanic was on-set and paid by the film's production comany, and the usual insurance requirements (no risky activities, etc.) were also waived for him.
He certainly was one of a kind.
A few of my favorite McQueen films are "The Great Escape", "Love with a Proper Stranger", and (yes) "The Blob". :)
On edit: Cripes! How could I forget "The Thomas Crown Affair"!

14. That is so cool! I remember him in Wanted Dead or Alive..... |
|
Hehe. Followed him ever since. Or at least through "The Hunter."
Papillon was one of my favorite McQueen flicks.

10. I love that old time cool, that smoothness they have in movies of that |
|
time. I loved that innate cool then. Sort of the same style in some ways as anything McQueen was in.
